Overview
Skardu Tour from Pakistan reaches the heart of Baltistan, seven days and six nights among the highest mountains on earth.
From our Charsadda base our team arranges the Islamabad flight or the Karakoram Highway drive, hotels, and guided days at the Shangrila and Kachura lakes, the Deosai plateau and Sheosar Lake, the Shigar Fort, and the Katpana cold desert. The Indus, the world's second highest plateau, and the gateway to K2 make Skardu a bucket list trip for travelers from across Pakistan.
Northern travel specialists
Skardu is deep in Baltistan, a flight or a two day drive from Islamabad, so here our edge is not proximity but experience and the convenience of the Islamabad air route we book with a road backup. Our desk has arranged Baltistan for years, with drivers and hosts who know the Skardu road, the Deosai jeep track, and the mountain weather that moves the flights, and relationships with the Shangrila and Skardu hotels. Our team knows the season for Deosai and Sheosar Lake and the cold desert light, real northern know how rather than a booking passed to a distant handler.
Day by day

Day 1
Fly Islamabad to Skardu subject to weather, or drive the Karakoram Highway and the Skardu road, settling into your hotel by the Indus.

Day 2
Visit the Shangrila resort at Lower Kachura Lake and walk to the clear Upper Kachura Lake, with the Sarfaranga cold desert in the afternoon.

Day 3
A jeep day up to the Deosai plains, the second highest plateau on earth, and the blue Sheosar Lake ringed by wildflowers and peaks in summer.

Day 4
Drive to the Shigar valley and the restored Shigar Fort, then on to the Manthokha Waterfall among the terraced fields.

Day 5
Climb to the Kharpocho Skardu Fort over the town, and spend the evening on the dunes of the Katpana cold desert by the Indus.

Day 6
A day at leisure in Skardu, or a drive to the Khaplu valley and its restored palace, one of the finest in Baltistan.

Day 7
Fly back to Islamabad subject to weather, or begin the drive down the Karakoram Highway home.
The flow above is the typical seven day plan for Skardu. Our desk swaps the drive for the Islamabad flight, adds Khaplu or Shigar nights, or a Deosai crossing to Astore on request.
What you will see

The Shangrila resort sits by Lower Kachura Lake with its red pagoda, and the clear Upper Kachura Lake is a short walk away. The gentle, green heart of a Skardu trip.

The second highest plateau on earth at over four thousand metres, a vast summer meadow of wildflowers, marmots, and the Himalayan brown bear, with the blue Sheosar Lake at its edge.

A high alpine lake on the Deosai plains, deep blue against the wildflower meadows and the distant peaks. The turning point of the Deosai jeep day.

The seventeenth century fort and palace in the Shigar valley, restored as a heritage hotel and museum, set among apricot orchards near the old Amburiq Mosque and the Blind Lake, on the way to the K2 base camp trek.

One of the highest cold deserts in the world, dunes of pale sand along the Indus at Skardu, with the wider Sarfaranga desert nearby, striking at sunset and unlike any lowland desert. A short drive from town.

The old Kharpocho fort on the rock above Skardu, with a wide view over the town, the Indus, and the Katpana desert. A short climb and a heritage stop.

The Khaplu valley east of Skardu, home to the restored Khaplu Palace, one of the finest in Baltistan, the wooden Chaqchan Mosque of the fourteenth century, and the Manthoka Waterfall among the terraced fields. On the longer Skardu routes, a heritage day or overnight.

What sets the price
A Skardu tour has no fixed sticker, since the season, the hotel, the excursions, and your departure city set each quote. Our desk reads them live for your dates and sends the current best price, with no hidden charges and no stale published number.
The summer peak and the Deosai window from July sit highest, while the early and late season run lower for the same trip.
The Islamabad flight saves days and lifts the cost when the weather allows, while the Karakoram Highway drive is the value option.
A lakeside or heritage stay at Shangrila or Shigar lifts the price, while a standard Skardu hotel holds it down.
A shared group departure carries the friendliest price, while a private family tour with your own jeeps and pace costs more.
